1. Who we are

QORO Ltd ("QORO", "we", "us" or "our") operates the QORO app, website and related services. QORO helps people and organisations create, discover and take part in real-world Socials within connected communities.
QORO Ltd is usually the controller of the personal data described in this Policy. A Connector may also be an independent controller where it collects or uses information for its own purposes. In that case, the Connector is responsible for its own privacy obligations.
  • Legal entity: QORO Ltd

  • Company number: 16635582

  • Registered office: 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX

  • Privacy contact: support@joinqoro.com

  • Support contact: support@joinqoro.com

2. When this Policy applies

This Policy applies when you use the QORO app, visit our website, join the waitlist, submit a contact form, create or manage an account, join or create a Social, use any chat features where available, or otherwise interact with QORO.
It covers the current beta.

3. Age requirement

QORO is for people aged 18 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18.
The beta uses an 18+ App Store rating. It does not use additional age-verification technology. If we reasonably believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we may restrict, suspend or delete it and remove associated personal data, except where we need to retain information for safety, legal or regulatory reasons.

4. What we collect

We collect information from you, from your use of QORO, from other users and Connectors, and from our service providers.

Account and profile information
Your email address, account details, chosen name, profile photo, tagline, connections, Connectors and Social activity.

Connector information
Information about Connector accounts, including profile details, members, followers, collaborators, membership requests and approved location information.

Social and participation information
Information about Socials you create or join, including titles, descriptions, images, date and time, location, visibility, linked Connectors, creators, invitations and participation or attendance records.

Safety and moderation information
Reports, blocked-user relationships, support correspondence and information needed to investigate safety or moderation concerns.

Location and device information
Device-permission status and, where a feature requires it, location or proximity information. QORO does not use persistent background location tracking.

Technical information
IP address, device and operating-system information, app version, logs, crash and performance information, security events and interactions with the app or website.

Website and enquiry information
Information you submit through the website or app waitlist and contact forms, including contact details, organisation, role and message.

Cookies, analytics and advertising information
Information collected through consent-based website technologies, including Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel.

Some information, such as your email address and basic account information, is required to create and operate a QORO account. If you do not provide required information, we may not be able to provide the relevant feature or service. Other information is optional unless indicated otherwise.

5. How we use your data and our lawful bases

We use personal data to:
  • Create, authenticate and secure accounts;

  • operate profiles, connections, memberships, Socials and chats;

  • show information to other users according to QORO’s visibility rules;

  • process membership and attendance requests;

  • provide aggregate participation and attendance insights to Connectors;

  • send essential service and push notifications;

  • review reports, enforce our rules and prevent harm, fraud and misuse;

  • maintain security, backups, testing and service reliability;

  • manage the waitlist, beta access, partnerships and contact enquiries;

  • send marketing where the law allows it;

  • run consent-based analytics and advertising technologies; and

  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

Our main lawful bases are contractual necessity, legitimate interests, legal obligations and consent. We use these to operate and protect QORO, meet legal requirements, and provide optional marketing and analytics. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

6. What other people can see

QORO is built around participation, so some information is visible to other users depending on your account, your relationships and the visibility settings of the relevant Social or Connector.

Regular User profiles may show information such as your photo, chosen name, tagline, Social activity, connections and Connectors. What others can see depends on your relationship with them and the visibility settings that apply.
Connector profiles may show profile information, member count, followers, approved location information and Social activity. Connectors may also access information needed to manage their memberships and Socials, but they do not receive a user’s complete personal participation history.
Public Socials may be discoverable beyond the Connector they are linked to and may show information such as the Social, creator, co-creators, linked Connectors, location information and attendance count. Private Socials are visible only to authorised participants and QORO staff where access is reasonably required.

7. Connectors and memberships

Connectors may access information needed to manage their memberships and Socials, including membership requests, member lists and participation information relating to the relevant Connector or Social.
Connectors do not receive a user’s complete personal participation history and, during beta, cannot export member lists, download email addresses or use QORO member data for unrelated external marketing through the product.
Where a Connector collects or uses personal data independently of QORO, it may have its own legal responsibilities for that use.

8. Chats

Where chat features are enabled, QORO may process messages and related information needed to operate, secure and moderate those chats.
QORO does not routinely monitor chats. Where content is reported, authorised staff may review the reported content and relevant context where reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal or technical reasons.
Messages are protected in transit and at rest. Deleted messages may be retained temporarily where reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, disputes or legal compliance.

9. Location and device permissions

QORO asks for device permissions through your phone's operating system. You may allow or refuse location access and change the permission later in your device settings.
Location is used only where an active beta feature requires it. QORO does not use persistent background location tracking. If you refuse permission, a location-dependent feature may be unavailable while the rest of the app remains usable.

10. Safety, reports and blocking

Users and Connectors can report users, Connectors and Socials where they believe our Terms or Community Guidelines have been breached.
Reports may include information about the reporter, the reported account or Social, written details and related moderation records. QORO may review relevant content and context, contact the people involved where appropriate, and retain information where reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance or dispute resolution.
Blocking restricts profile access and future interactions between accounts, but shared-chat messages and certain historical participation records may remain visible where needed for context, safety or record integrity.

11. Notifications

QORO may send push notifications relating to your account, memberships, Socials, chats and other service activity. You can control push notifications through your device settings.

12. Website forms, cookies and pixels

Waitlist submissions from the website and app, and website contact-form submissions, feed into QORO’s admin panel. We use them to manage beta access, respond to enquiries, assess partnerships and communicate about QORO.
Our website may use strictly necessary technologies that are required for the site to function.
We also use non-essential analytics and advertising technologies, including Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel. These help us understand how people use the website, measure performance and improve our communications.
These non-essential technologies remain disabled unless you actively consent through our cookie banner. You can reject them or change your preferences later through the website’s cookie settings.

13. Who we share data with

We share personal data only where needed to operate QORO, protect people, comply with law or support the purposes in this Policy.
  • Other users, creators, co-creators and authorised participants, according to profile, Social and chat visibility rules.
  • Connectors, where needed to manage memberships, Socials and aggregate insights.
  • Authorised QORO team members and contractors who need access for support, safety, moderation, security, operations or product development.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, auditors, regulators, law-enforcement bodies and courts where required or reasonably necessary.
Service providers
We use trusted providers for cloud infrastructure, storage, email, push notifications, testing, deep links, app distribution, analytics and advertising measurement. Current providers may include AWS, AWS SES, Firebase, Nightwatch, Apple, Google, Linkerson, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements and, where they act for QORO, under appropriate contractual protections. The exact provider list may change.
We will update this Policy where a change materially affects how personal data is handled.

14. International transfers

QORO aims to store core personal data in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Some providers may process data elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards.

15. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating the beta, maintaining community continuity, resolving disputes, investigating safety issues, enforcing our agreements and meeting legal obligations.
  • Account and profile data is generally kept for the life of the account, then deleted or anonymised after the account-deletion process, subject to necessary exceptions.
  • Social, participation and chat records are kept while needed to operate QORO and preserve legitimate community, safety and dispute records.
  • Reports and moderation records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to protect users, detect repeated misconduct, resolve disputes and meet legal duties.
  • Technical and security logs are kept for a limited period based on security and operational needs.
  • Backups are currently intended to be retained for at least 30 days.
  • Cookie, analytics and advertising data is kept according to the retention periods configured for the relevant provider and the consent choices you make.

16. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your QORO account directly through the QORO app.
If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion by emailing support@joinqoro.com from the email address associated with your QORO account. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request.
  • Once you confirm deletion in the app, your account is permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
  • Your active profile information, email and relationships are deleted or de-identified, except where limited information must be retained for safety, legal, regulatory or technical reasons.
  • All upcoming Socials created solely by your account are cancelled.
  • You are removed from upcoming Socials you joined or were invited to.
  • Past Social records may remain with your identity replaced by “Deleted Account” so legitimate historical records remain coherent.
  • Messages or other shared content may remain in shared chat history under an anonymized identity where removing them would damage conversation integrity.
  • Reports, moderation records, legal records and limited technical logs may be retained where reasonably necessary.
  • Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until the backup cycle expires.

17. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including role-based access controls, secure session storage, administrative logging, encryption in transit using TLS and encryption of personal data at rest.
No system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your email and device and for telling us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

18. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete or restrict the use of data;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
  • receive certain data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
To exercise a right, contact support@joinqoro.com. We may need to verify your identity. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions, including where information must be retained for the rights and safety of others.

19. Marketing

We may send marketing where you have consented or where another lawful route is available. You can unsubscribe using the link in the message or by contacting us. You cannot opt out of essential account, security, membership, Social or service communications while using the relevant feature.

20. Complaints

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

21. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when QORO, our providers or applicable law changes. We will publish the updated version, change the 'Last updated' date and provide additional notice where a change is material.
