Community Guidelines

Why this exists

QORO activates real-world connection. That means real people, real proximity and real spaces.
The environments we create shape the people we become. Every message, invitation, Social and act of participation helps create that environment.

These Guidelines apply across QORO: profiles, Connector accounts, Socials, Social Chats, Members Chats, and reports.

They sit alongside the Terms of Use. A breach of these Guidelines may lead to content removal, feature restrictions, suspension or permanent account termination.

The standard
Use QORO in a way that strengthens trust, safety and participation.

  • Be real.

  • Be respectful.

  • Be accountable.

  • Protect the space.

  • Make it easier for people to participate, not harder.

QORO is not built for anonymous harm. It is built for people who show up.

1. Respect people

No harassment. No intimidation. No hate. No unwanted pressure.

Do not:

  • harass, bully, threaten, shame, stalk or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop;

  • target someone because of race, colour, nationality, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected characteristic;

  • use slurs, dehumanising language, hateful symbols or content that celebrates exclusion or violence;

  • make unwanted sexual comments, advances or requests;

  • share private or intimate information, images or messages without permission;

  • encourage others to pile on, isolate, humiliate or intimidate someone; or

  • retaliate against someone for reporting a concern, setting a boundary or leaving a Social.

This applies online and offline. It applies in profiles, chats, Socials, venues and any conduct directly connected to participation through QORO.

Consent and boundaries matter. A previous conversation, connection, invitation or attendance does not create ongoing consent.

2. Be who you say you are

Trust begins with honest identity and honest context.

Do not:

  • impersonate another person, organisation, university, society, department or Connector; 

  • misrepresent your authority, affiliation, role or access; or 

  • use another person’s name, image or information in a deceptive or harmful way. 

You may use your chosen name. You may not use identity as a tool to deceive, manipulate or harm.

3. Host responsibly

Creating a Social gives you power. It also gives you responsibility.

Creators and co-creators must:

  • provide accurate information about the purpose, date, time, location, access, capacity and expectations;

  • update attendees when something material changes;

  • choose public or private visibility carefully;

  • invite and manage people responsibly;

  • respect venue rules, local law, capacity limits and any required permission;

  • consider foreseeable safety risks;

  • be present or arrange responsible oversight where the Social reasonably requires it;

  • cancel responsibly and give notice where practical; and

  • act fairly when approving, rejecting or removing attendees.

Do not:

  • create a fake, misleading, unlawful or unsafe Social;

  • misrepresent access, availability, sponsorship, affiliation or what will happen;

  • use a private Social link to bypass the invitation rules;

  • overcrowd a venue or encourage unsafe behaviour;

  • organise activity that exploits, endangers or deceives participants; or

  • leave attendees without reasonable information or support when a serious issue arises.

For beta, creators and co-creators may cancel a Social. The original creator may remove a co-creator. Use that power carefully.

4. Protect real-world spaces

Every Social happens somewhere.
Protect the trust that makes that possible.

Respect:

  • the venue and the people operating it;

  • neighbours and the surrounding community;

  • private property and restricted areas;

  • noise, capacity, access and safety rules; and

  • the environment around the Social.

Do not:

  • damage, steal, vandalise or misuse property;

  • enter private or restricted spaces without permission;

  • disrupt businesses, classes, workplaces or local residents;

  • leave a space unsafe, damaged or materially worse than you found it; or

  • use QORO to coordinate trespass, disorder or unlawful activity.

If a place trusts QORO, we protect that trust.

5. Keep participation genuine

QORO is for participation, not extraction.

Do not:

  • scrape, harvest, export or misuse member, attendee or profile information; 

  • send mass outreach, repetitive invitations or spam; 

  • manufacture fake attendance, followers, membership or engagement; or 

  • use coercive, manipulative or deceptive tactics to promote a Social, Connector, commercial activity or cause. 

Relevant, transparent sharing connected to a genuine Social or Connector may be allowed. Manipulation and extraction are not.

6. Keep chats human

Social Chats and Members Chats exist to help people participate.

Do not use chats to harass, threaten, spam, scam, share private information without permission or promote unlawful or dangerous conduct.

Blocking someone does not remove either person’s messages from a shared Social Chat or Members Chat. Shared messages remain visible for conversational context.

7. No scams, fraud or deceptive activity

Do not use QORO to:

  • deceive people into giving money, personal information, goods, services or access; 

  • promote phishing, impersonation, fraudulent opportunities or pyramid schemes; 

  • request passwords, one-time codes or account access; or 

  • misrepresent a venue, organisation, partnership, role or benefit. 

A request for money outside QORO is not endorsed, protected or verified by QORO.

8. No illegal or dangerous activity

Do not create, promote, facilitate or participate through QORO in:

  • violence, credible threats or encouragement of physical harm;

  • sexual exploitation, abuse or non-consensual sexual conduct;

  • human trafficking or exploitation;

  • the sale or distribution of illegal drugs, weapons or stolen goods;

  • terrorist activity or support for violent extremist organisations;

  • dangerous challenges or conduct likely to cause serious injury;

  • criminal damage, theft, fraud or trespass; or

  • any other unlawful activity.

Context matters. Educational, documentary or safety-related discussion may be treated differently from content that promotes or facilitates harm.

9. QORO is 18+

QORO is for people aged 18 and over.

  • Do not create an account if you are under 18. 

  • Do not misrepresent your age or help someone bypass the age requirement. 

  • Report an account you reasonably believe belongs to someone under 18. 

QORO may restrict, suspend or remove an account where we reasonably believe the age requirement has been breached.

10. Respect privacy

Do not:

  • share someone’s home address, contact details, location, messages, photos or other private information without permission; 

  • misuse attendance, membership or profile information to pressure, profile or target someone; or 

  • attempt to access a private Social, profile, chat or Connector without permission. 

Creators may see information needed to manage a Social. Connectors may see information needed to manage their memberships. That access must not be misused.

11. Respect intellectual property

Only share content you have the right to use. Do not copy, publish or present someone else’s work as your own, or use QORO branding in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, partnership or official status.

12. Rules for Connectors

Connector accounts shape the environment around their members and carry additional responsibility.

Connectors must:

  • be authorised to represent the organisation, community or identity they use; 

  • keep their profile, affiliation and relevant information accurate; 

  • handle membership requests fairly and responsibly; 

  • use member information only for legitimate QORO membership and Social purposes; and 

  • take reasonable responsibility for the Socials, Members Chats and spaces connected to their Connector. 

Connectors must not misuse member information, falsely claim institutional authority or use membership as a tool for coercion, discrimination or retaliation.

13. Reporting and emergencies

Report users, Connectors or Socials when you reasonably believe these Guidelines have been breached.

Reports should be honest and made in good faith. Do not submit false, retaliatory, coordinated or abusive reports.

The in-app reporting tool is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, leave the situation and contact the emergency services or relevant venue staff.

QORO may contact you for further information. Reports may be reviewed with relevant content and context by authorised staff.

14. Blocking

Blocking is a boundary tool. It limits profile access and future interactions between accounts.

Some existing requests, invitations or relationships between the accounts may also be removed or restricted when a block is applied. Blocking does not erase historical attendance records or hide messages in a shared Social Chat or Members Chat.

Do not attempt to evade a block through another account, a Connector account or another person.

15. How QORO enforces these Guidelines

We consider the content, context, severity, risk of harm, user history, intent, impact and available evidence.

We may:

  • remove or restrict content;

  • limit profile, membership, chat or Social visibility;

  • cancel or restrict a Social;

  • remove a participant, member, creator or co-creator;

  • issue a warning;

  • temporarily restrict features;

  • suspend an account;

  • permanently terminate an account;

  • preserve relevant records for safety or legal reasons; or

  • contact a venue, institution, regulator or law-enforcement body where legally required or reasonably necessary to address a serious risk.

We may act immediately and without prior notice where there is a credible urgent risk, serious misconduct, suspected underage use, fraud, illegal activity or a threat to QORO.

Not every report leads to the same outcome. We may decide that no action is required, that education or a warning is proportionate, or that immediate removal is necessary.

16. Reviews and appeals

Where appropriate, QORO will explain an enforcement decision. We may withhold details where disclosure could create a safety, privacy, security or legal risk.

You may request an internal review by contacting support@joinqoro.com. Include the account or Social involved, the decision you are challenging and any relevant context.

QORO may uphold, vary or reverse the decision. The internal review outcome is final within QORO, without affecting any external legal rights.

17. These Guidelines will evolve

We may update these Guidelines as QORO, our community and our legal responsibilities evolve. We will publish the updated version and change the “Last updated” date, with additional notice for material changes where reasonably practical.

Belonging is built through participation, not presence alone.

Every invitation, message and Social teaches people how to show up. Whether they can speak. Whether they can join. Whether they feel safe enough to be seen.

So leave the environment stronger than you found it.
